Keyboard Ninja HotKey List

This page list all the Keyboard Ninja HotKeys. The HotKeys are separated into categories for ease of use. The actions that have SWS in the name require the SWS Extensions to be installed in order for those actions to function. Also at the end of some category are notes on ReaConsole commands for some of the same or similar tasks. You can also download or print the list.

ReaConsole Notes

You can change track volume quickly by bringing up ReaConsole (it’s default HotKey is C) and typing the following syntax.
UpperCase V sets the volume to that amount, and lower case v trims the volume by that amount.
Example:
  • v2 or v-2 will increase or decrease the volume on all selected tracks by 2db.
  • V3 or V-3 will set the volume on any selected tracks to 3db or -3db.
  • v1, 3, 5-7 -5 will lower the volume on tracks 1, 3 5, 6 and 7, by 5db.

You can also use track names instead of track numbers, and the “*” character as a wildcard. e.g. VGui* 6, will set the volume on any tracks whose name starts with “Guit” to 6db.

Reaconsole commands will only work on tracks, and not on the Master track. So the HotKeys listed above are your best bet for items and the master track.

Note to Bline Users

I generally use ReaConsole for the go to and or select tracks task, as VoiceOver doesn’t give yu any feedback when selecting tracks using the keyboard shortcuts above. Also ReaConsole is quicker and allow for accessibly selecting non contiguous tracks.

ReaConsole Notes

You can select track(s) quickly by bringing up ReaConsole (it’s default HotKey is C) and typing the following syntax.
UpperCase “S” forces only those track(s) to be selected, (despite whatever track(s) were selected prior), and lower case “s” toggles the selection. If it was selected it unselects it. If it was not selected it toggles its selection on.)
  • s2 will toggle selection of track 2.
  • S3 will force only track 3 to be selected.
  • S1, 3, 5-7 will force only tracks 1, 3 5, 6 and 7 to be selected.

You can also use track names instead of track numbers, and the “*” character as a wildcard. e.g. SGui* will force only track(s) whose name starts with “Guit” to be selected.
